American Wear was founded in 1951 by Nick Auriemma and has been family-owned and operated ever since. Nick’s caring personality and forthright values endeared all of his customers; he was a living customer loyalty program. With Nick’s son, John Auriemma at the helm along with nephew, Dean DeFilippo those same values have lived on through the generations. Our dedication to providing outstanding personal service, ethical business practices and fair pricing is our way of treating you like family.

Our uniform rental and laundering programs are offered regionally in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and eastern Pennsylvania. We also sell uniforms and custom image apparel throughout the US. Providing coats for those in need is one way of giving back to our community via a joint project with Outpost in the Burbs. We use our resources and knowledge in the garment industry to collect and deliver new and gently used coats to people in need. With our facility located in an urban enterprise zone in East Orange, NJ we’re committed to promoting our local economy and revitalizing our urban communities.
