Heat and humidity are great if you’re at the shore or in a swimming pool, however most of us aren’t lifeguards so it’s important to know how to keep cool while at work and when you’re out and about. Nobody wants to deal with sweat so take some of these tips to stay fresh.

Wear the Right Fabric

Certain fabrics, like wool, are great in the winter, but in the summer switch to lighter fabrics like cotton and linen. Maybe it’s time to dig out that old Hawaiian shirt you got on your last vacation? The thought of a nice ocean breeze can help cool you down as well! And of course, at American Wear we work to customize your uniforms so we’ll work with you to keep you and your employees ahead of the heat.

Don’t Overeat

Eating a big meal speeds up your metabolic rate and increases your body temperature. In the summer, eat smaller meals and do it more often throughout the day. While you’re doing this, don’t forget to still sneak the occasional Popsicle.

Stay Indoors

Places like ice skating rinks, movie theaters and malls keep the AC pumping all summer long, so if you’re worried about your electricity bill why not take advantage of someone else’s offer to keep you cool?
