We are spoiled here in New Jersey to get to experience the beautiful winter seasons, but also being located right on the ocean for summertime! New Jersey is so much fun in the summer with the beach, festivals, water parks and more. Here are American Wear’s 5 favorite summertime shore getaways here in New Jersey:

New Jersey Summer

  1. Movies In The Park, Bartram Avenue Beach

Every year at Bartram Avenue Beach, there are movies projected on a big screen right on the beach! These movies usually start after July 4th and last through August. This is one of the best ways to have a family fun night in the summer time. The movies shown are generally geared towards kids, so there’s no reason to shy away from taking the whole family. And, it’s free!

  1. Jersey Shore Boardwalk, Ocean City

The Boardwalk is the perfect place to spend a nice summer day. Start early in the morning and grab breakfast, enjoy the fun shops that line the boardwalk, followed by a nice, relaxing day on the beach! It’s all casual on the Jersey Shore Boardwalk, where flip-flops and tank tops are the preferred uniform! From miniature golf to renting a surfboard, there is something for the entire family on the Boardwalk. Ocean City is a dry town, which means there is no public drinking anywhere on the island, which makes for a very relaxing summer getaway! What is better in summertime than an afternoon with your toes in the sand?

  1. Silverball Pinball Museum, Asbury Park

Located in Asbury Park, NJ on the boardwalk by the beach, Silverball Pinball Museum is exactly what it sounds like, THE home of Pinball. Did you consider yourself a Pinball Wizard back in the day? This place will give you a chance to relive the glory days. Not into Pinball? That’s okay. There are other arcade games for those in the family who aren’t that great at flicking the flippers.

  1. Jersey Shore Festival, Seaside Heights

A music and arts festival held in New Jersey every year, the New Jersey Shore Festival kicks off the summer festival season at the Jersey Shore. Taking place May 20-22, 2016, the Jersey Shore Festival features over 350 artists from around the world including musicians, traditional artists like painters and sculptors, and not-so-traditional artists. The New Jersey Shore Festival can be fun for the whole family with its music and incredible shopping. This very special festival is not just for the music lovers out there. Check out yoga on the beach, Tai Chi lessons or even surf lessons!

  1. Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Water Parks, Wildwood

Hello, funnel cakes and water slides! Is there anything better to do in summer than visit a water park on a hot day? Not only does Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Water Parks include some of the biggest, most epic water slides in the country, it’s also home to several piers with roller coasters, a colorful carnival and Mariner’s Pier, which takes families back to the turn of the century rides when life was much simpler.
