As October rolls in, you may have noticed the brisk breezes and dropping temperatures. It won’t be long until the snow falls and if it is anything like last year, we will all need plenty of coats. We are proud to be part of such a great community, which is why we give back in a variety of ways.

This year, we are excited to partner with the Outpost in the Burbs and the Human Needs Food Pantry to distribute coats to people in need who live in Montclair and neighboring communities in Essex County. The coats will be distributed to families and singles who are elderly, disabled, home-bound, unemployed, or underemployed.

If you find yourself doing a little fall cleaning this year and happen upon some gently used coats, we will gladly find them a good home with someone in need. If you are out shopping and find a coat that you wouldn’t mind purchasing, we also take new coats to pass along. Simply give your coats to our driver during his weekly delivery. Please place the coats in a bag and let our driver know that they are for the coat drive. We will clean the coats as needed.

We appreciate you helping American Wear keep New Jersey families warm this winter.
